A Royal Employment

The controversial royal wedding bells ringing loud and clear this weekend, have  stirred up noble thoughts of what it would be like to be employed by the Royal Family.
One would assume there would be no shortage of the usual work place conflicts of    co – worker drama and politics.
Our research has found some royal positions vacant.
Yes, believe it or not Buckingham Palace is hiring!

The Queen has over 1200 staff and apparently, they are recruiting for more staff, a Communications
officer and Communications assistant are just some of the roles available. Given, the recent PR
surrounding Prince Harry’s wedding and Kate’s pregnancy, you could conclude that these new
communication roles will be conspiring with Harry and Meghan or potentially working with William, Kate.
The job description reads, you’ll handle press inquiries, prepare editorial website content, as well as
manage the media for Royal engagements and official events in the UK and overseas.

Numerous jobs like food service and housekeeping are currently filled within the palace. However,
her majesty requires others to serve her in stranger ways such as The Grand Carver who is assigned
to carving up the roast on special occasions, The Royal Shoe Wearer whereby it is their responsibility
for braking in the Queen’s heels and strangest of all The Warden of the Swans whos sole responsibility is
to annually gather up the River Thames’ swans for a census and health check. In darker, more olden day
times these swans where actually served up as a snack for a royal banquet. Not so run of mill job titles make
up a decent portion of the Queen’s royal staff.

It seems social stature, qualifications and education are of upmost importance in a regal workplace. Kate Middleton’s private secretary holds an MBA and was previously a dean, at an Oxford University business
school. Will and Kate’s nanny hails from the prestigious (and highly selective) Norland College.
Obviously, working for the royal family is an anointed role. So only applicants with a polished reputation need apply.

If you think you have the imperial skills to become an official employee at Buckingham Palace, check out
their job board on LinkedIn. Not all roles are high profile, some support the Windsor Castle visitor services,
Royal Library and even Palace summer retail roles for those on holiday working visas.

Is a Royal employment part your job future? The grandeurs of a Royal employment are enticing given they
are the most globally talked about families, outside the Kardashian’s!
