ANZAC Centenary

Dawn Services

4.25am – Manly War Memorial, The Corso

A Dawn Service of remembrance will be held at the Manly War Memorial, The Corso, Manly. All residents and visitors are welcome to attend and to lay a wreath at this service. The service will be hosted by Jean Hay AM, IAG Chair.

Event details below under 11am Commemoration Ceremony.

5:30am –Manly Dam, King Street, Manly Vale

A Dawn Service of Remembrance hosted by Manly Warringah War Memorial Park Remembrance Trust followed by ANZAC biscuits, tea and coffee for a donation. All members of the public are welcome to attend and lay a wreath at all three services.

Road Closure: King Street (Manly Dam entrance), restricted traffic from 4:30am-6:30am

Important information

  • There is limited parking available in surrounding streets and no vehicle access into Manly Dam via King street
  • Special vehicle access for disabilities is unfortunately not available due to the large crowds. We apologise for this inconvenience.
  • Be prepared to experience large crowds and limited view points
  • Arrive early to allow time to walk to the venue
  • Bring a torch as there is no lighting during the service
  • No dogs or pets allowed
  • Bring your own water as access is very difficult through the crowds
  • If assistance is required look for staff wearing high visibility vests or jackets

5.30am – Dee Why Beach Dawn Service

Limited parking is available at Dee Why Beach.

Additional parking can be accessed at Dee Why Grand off Pacific Parade, Coles Dee Why off Dee Why Parade, and the Howard Avenue carpark.
Dee Why RSL will be offering a free shuttle service to and from the Club for the elderly and injured.

Commemoration Ceremony

11am – Manly War Memorial, The Corso

Manly’s ANZAC Day Commemoration and Wreath Laying Ceremony will be held at the Manly War Memorial on The Corso and hosted by Jean Hay AM, IAG Chair. The event includes an official ANZAC Day March where marchers will assemble at the corner of Wentworth Street and Darley Road and a wreath laying ceremony. All members of the public are welcome to attend and lay a wreath.

Change in traffic conditions & use of Whistler Street Carpark on ANZAC Day:

The following changes in traffic conditions will apply during Northern Beaches Council’s ANZAC Day Service, to be held at 11am at the Manly War Memorial, The Corso, Manly.

Between the hours of 7am and 12.30pm there will be ‘No Stopping’ restrictions in place on both sides of Darley Road from Wentworth Street along The Corso onto Whistler St, Manly.

At 10am traffic will not be allowed to enter Darley Road North from Wentworth Street, to allow marches to congregate in safety. This will deny access to The Corso from Darley Road North.

Access from Whistler Street into The Corso will not be allowed from 10am until approximately 12.30pm. Entry to the Whistler Street carpark during the service will be via Sydney Road.

Conditions will revert to normal at the conclusion of the service at approximately 12.30pm.
